Spring signals the start of a busy period for the housing market

Spring is in the air, which past trends dictate is the strongest time of year to sell your home. As the temperature rises and the mornings get brighter, viewing houses becomes a fun and exciting activity rather than a chore in the cold, dark days of winter. Sellers are taking advantage by listing properties early to benefit from the busy season, as house prices rise as a response to the recently announced Budget 2014. Not only has this already suggested a strong demand for properties in the region, it has also hit markets of all sizes and prices ranges.

Official figures show the average UK house price rose to £254,000 in January, which is up 6.8% since the same time last year. In the South East the average house price grew by 7.1% to £316,000, cementing the desirable traits of our region. 2013 is looking good!

We are proud to announce that already this year we have had numerous quality buyers register with us, making everyone in the office enjoy this bright start to the year.

Over the last five years we have seen some of the worst news and figures in the property market, however all signs are indicating that 2013 may be the best year for property transactions since the global credit crunch hit us.

This positive forecast is backed up by mortgage rates reported to have come down yet again whilst borrowing money with many high street lenders is the best its been for decades.

Here at Morris Armitage, we have expert property valuers on hand to provide up-to-date market advice on all property types.
